Westmoreland Hobnail

Westmoreland Glass Company English Hobnail was produced from 1920 through 1985, when the company closed. The most common colors are crystal and milkglass, but was also manufactured in various other colors. The pattern resembles small raised pointed diamonds. I found this piece but I am unable to identify it's use. The bowl is much shallower than the typical compote, so I'm leaning toward a candy dish. It has the

Westmoreland mark

"W" with an intertwined "G" on the base, used after 1940.
